New Boxee behaviour post Boxee cloud server shutdown.

Since the shutdown, there's been no Netflix, no apps, but I've been using it successfully as a local media player.
Five minutes ago, turned it on, after I used the power button on the boxee to shut it down a couple of hours ago, and there's been a new 'saying' that's been popping up.
"Something something, failed to connect, something something after establishing connection back on the internet."
Which is fine.
But again, just turning it on, it went to the 'user' screen, and I had two user accounts (bought it that way, no idea as to actual passwords or whatever).
There used to be two user accounts, both with generic person avatars, now I have one that is a skull. Won't connect.
Luckily? the other account still works. Not sure of any sort of new server activity, but the next thing I have definitely done is block all internet access for the boxee.
I just can't risk some sort of server kill code wiping out the remaining working account.
I had that alternate DNS hack still active as a DNS on my router, so I'm not sure if that had anything to do with this recent change, but I'm not going to risk it.

I haven't changed anything with my cloned server, which it sounds like you're still using?
Your Boxee accounts have been gone since June, when boxee deleted them all and took down the servers. The only reason they still "exist" to you is that they're cached on your Boxee Box.
My server just lets you log in with any credentials in order to bypass the account stuff. The "skull" logo means you're using my server, I am returning the skull as the user icon.
The "failed to connect" stuff is what all the boxes were doing when boxee servers went offline. They aren't seeing internet connection. If you've blocked internet from your Boxee Box, this message will appear, as it can't hit my cloned server.
As long as you don't reset your Boxee Box (revert back to old firmware), you're fine to leave it internet connected. There's no "kill" code that will remove your users, as your users are already gone from the boxee databases. If you removed the user on your box right now and re-logged-in with random username and password, it should be working.
